Stir-Fry Sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce you can use soy sauce, but the fish sauce has a very high umami flavor or you can do half soy sauce and half fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup Thai Hot Basil You can also use just Thai Basil

  • peel raw¬†shrimp
  • you can mince, or use food processor… but the mortar is the Thai way
  • pinch off beaves from stem

  • Heat oil in a wok until oil is very hot add garlic and chili and stir-fry
  • Add shrimp cook for 2-3 minutes (don't overcook it)
  • Add oyster sauce and fish sauce (you can add a little bit of water if the sauce starts to try up)
  • Add Thai Hot Basil (KraPow)

One of the most popular street good in Thailand is Pad KraPow. Pad is stir-fry and KraPow is Thai Hot Basil. You can replace protien with any kind of meat… pork, chicken, beef… ground or slices. However, shrimp just takes Pad KraPow to another level… especially Tiger Shrimp.
